Genette Kessana was a Force strong Olari Saber, partnered with Jedi knight Jak Orion and was a long-time friend of Obi-Wan Kenobi. She was the mother of Danyel Orion and Ariel Kessana.

Genette Kessana was born on Tatooine in 57 BBY. Her mother, Talania Tresca, was a Jedi knight who, upon discovering she was pregnant, disappeared from the Jedi Order. Genette spent her childhood under her tutelage, learning the Jedi arts, including the art of healing. When Genette was 14 Talania fell fatally ill, and she and Genette were taken to Olaris and accepted in the Kessana Clan. Genette was formally adopted by Daris Kessana (her father's kinsman and chieftan of the Kessana clan) and shortly afterwards Talania died.

To help her cope with the death of her mother and to integrate her into Olari society, Daris Kessana started Genette's training in the Olari warrior arts.
